CH207 is a thickened non-flammable, acid activated, phenolic paint stripper for the removal of epoxy, polyurethane and other chemically resistant coatings, including primers and base coats. CH207 is a heavy bodied, viscous material which clings to vertical, inverted, and inclined surfaces and is designed for brush and spray applications.
Note: CH207 is damaging to high strength steel magnesium alloys and composites. Some separation in CH207 is to be expected on storage and temperature extremes.
1) Agitate container before opening to ensure contents are well mixed. Clean any extremely soiled or oily surface prior to stripping. Mask off all perspex, plastic and rubber components.
2) Surface should be dry and above 25°C to achieve optimum stripping performance.
3) Apply CH207 by brushing, or by spraying with non-atomising spray equipment (Graco/Wager barrel pump or equivalent).
4) In 10 – 40 minutes (depending on the temperature of the surface), the coating should wrinkle and soften, agitate lightly.
5) If there are some areas where coating has not softened from surface then re-apply CH207 and after a few minutes agitate with a stiff bristle brush. Remove the coating from the surface by scraping and/or with the use of high-pressure water.
